A Little about me
I'm a home grown local of Clay County. In 1989 I started Kindergarten at Hayesville Elementary School in Ms. McClures homeroom as a Care Bear and Graduated from Hayesville High School in 2002. Since then, I've been a heavy equipment mechanic, a welder, a hardwood floor salesman, Deputy Sheriff and a Police Officer.

I've lived in Hayesville, Murphy, Andrews and even did a couple year stint in Panama City Fl, it was nice but just wasn't home.

I've got 4 nephews and 2 nieces, 2 of which are in school in Hayesville and another that will be in a few years.

When not at the school I can be found in the woods hiking to a beautiful remote location, sitting behind a Drum set making some noise, or playing some vidya games.

I could go on, but I just wanted to get a little of who I am out there so people have an idea of the person that's been charged with protecting and looking out for their kids while they're at
school.

My mission as an SRO
I wanted to be an SRO because I believe the current state of criminal justice, mental health and social services systems are less than adequate to say it politely. It doesn't do enough to those that deserve to be sentenced to prison, and not enough for those who genuinely need help, empathy, compassion, understanding to make a lasting change for them in their life’s, which in turn ultimately makes for a better, safer, and healthier community.
My personal belief is that if we can get to people while they're young, in the school’s, and reach them and do absolutely everything we possibly can to help them grow as a person, to make the best decisions they can, and keep them pointed in the right direction, it will make a better and longer lasting change for our community. 10-fold more than any judge or jail ever could once they’ve become an adult.
I wholeheartedly embrace the triad model for SRO's, educator/ informal counselor and mentor /law enforcement officer. I want to help breed an environment that the kids genuinely know and feel that no matter what problem they have going on in their life, that if they need someone, and they have no one else, they can seek me out day or night and I'll do any and everything I can for them.
The mission I've set out for myself is to do everything I can to ensure every student in Clay County knows that no matter what, if they reach out to me, I will do any and everything I can for them. Sometimes that may be nothing more than an understanding ear to listen, or it may involve one or multiple of the various programs or agencies we have available. Whatever their need is, I'm going to beat down the bushes to find the help they need.

We owe it to our kids to do everything in our power as adults to give them a solid foundation to start their journey from. If any of us, as adults, can look back and see that we could have done something more, then we have failed them. And that failure is more detrimental to a child's future than any test they could ever fail in the classroom.
